"The State of New York in recognition of the services rendered by those corps division and brigade commanders at Gettysburg not elsewhere honored on this field."

Monument Details

Artist: Brush, Gerome, sculptor; Casey, Edward Pearce, architect; John Swenson Granite Company, fabricator

Dedicated: September 9, 1925

Dimensions: H. 21 x W. 42 x D. 24 ft.

Description: The white Concord granite semicircular wall monument is made up of eighteen panels with a seat below, running nearly the length of the wall. The New York State Coat of Arms appears in relief on the protruding center structure which is surmounted by a eagle with wings spread upward.

Cost: $27,875.00 (September 1925)
